About Kim & Robert's Music Room
Kim and I are both lifelong music lovers, and for me, that includes years of playing music and becoming close with many traveling musicians. We’ve attended our share of house concerts and have always loved how intimate and meaningful they can be. So, we decided to open our home and create a space where artists—whether local or on the road—can find a welcoming place to play between their larger shows.
We aim for a balance: a place where the music can truly be heard and appreciated, while still feeling casual, comfortable, and fun—a setting where performers and guests can connect on a more personal level.
We love to host, and we usually put out some food to make the evening feel as much like a gathering as a show. Our living room, with its tall ceilings and hardwood floors, also makes for a great-sounding space. Whether it’s a solo performer or a full band with drums and bass, we’ve welcomed it.
Over the years, we’ve hosted artists including Monte Montgomery, Javier Mendoza (Hobo Cane), McLeod Nine, Dan McGuire, and Mia Borders. Each show has its own personality, but the goal is always the same: to create a shared experience where the music shines and everyone—on stage and off—walks away feeling connected, present, and part of something memorable.
